Overview

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a fruitful journey that introduces you to the lush forests, traditional villages, and rich biodiversity of Nepal, along with the picturesque views of the majestic mountains.

The Gosaikunda trekking is an opportunity to walk through a pristine environment in Nepal’s central Himalayan regions. The cultural richness and Himalayan glory of this place excel, and the beauty of glacial lakes will surely make amused. The path is less packed, and the individuals are very kind and pleasant.

The trek combines Langtang Valley Trek with a walk to Gosaikunda Lake. Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking is a young trekking section of Nepal with the less explored lands, virgin Langtang National Park, the wilderness of mountains with a classic touch of Tibetan Buddhist religion.

Gosaikunda Lake that lies on the route, is a popular site for Hindu pilgrims around the globe. So, the Gosaikunda trekking is not just popular for its natural magnificence but its religious significance.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek- Trekking to Langtang Valley

The Langtang Gosaikunda trekking begins with a quick drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. After a memorable sightseeing tour around some heritage sites in Kathmandu, we head towards Syabrubensi.

Syabrubensi is the actual commencement point of our Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. From here, we follow a trail that goes through villages and ascends upstream of the Langtang river along with the forests to Bamboo.

Enjoying the pristine environment, the trail climbs up through the forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and oak to Lama Hotel. Then Leaving Lama Hotel, we follow a trail that leads us to Langtang village via Ghoda Tabela. At Ghoda Tabela, we can catch the first glimpse of Langtang Lirung. As we open up to the Langtang village, it will shower us with some magnificent views of Langtang Himal, Langtang Lirung, and other mountains in the Langtang range in the Langtang valley.

Langtang village is a beautiful place to spend your time in. Here, you can visit a famous monastery known as Kyanjin gompa. Further, you can hike up to Kynajin Ri from where you can relish the magnificence of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and various other mountains in the Langtang range. Even the Langtang valley looks spectacular from up there.

Langtang village is a traditional village that treasures the ancient Tamang culture and the Tibetan Buddhist religion. A Yak cheese factory in the village is trendy for pure yak cheese. You can explore the factory and taste the cheese. If interested, you can purchase the cheese and take it back home as a souvenir from Nepal’s Langtang region. This can be a gift from Langtang Gosaikunda Trek to your family and friends.

Gosaikunda Lake Trek

Proceeding with Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek, we return to Lama Hotel and head towards Thulo Syabru. Traversing through the lush forested area, we climb uphill to Thulo Syabru and ascend towards Sing Gompa. As we move ahead, the clear and close view of Ganesh Himal unfolds right before us.

Finally, making our way along the classic trail in Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, we open up to Gosaikunda Lake, a holy lake for Hindu pilgrims. People believe that the Gosaikunda Lake was formed when Lord Shiva pierced the mountain with his trident to quench his thirst caused due to swallowing of poison. It is a beautiful lake that lies in a spectacular location in the backdrop of the beautiful Himalayas. After spending some beautiful time in the lake’s periphery and taking a holy dip into the Gosaikunda Lake, we embark on our journey back to Kathmandu.

Why Langtang Gosaikunda Trek?

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is one of the most rewarding treks in the Langtang region of Nepal. It offers some spectacular views of snow-clad mountains, including mountains such as Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, and many other peaks in the Langtang range. Besides, the trek takes you to Gosaikunda Lake; a holy lake believed to be created by Lord Shiva. The lake lies in a magnificent location with stunning views of mountains all around.

We can explore Kynagin Gompa in the Langtang valley and hike up to Kyanjin Ri for 360-degree views of mountains in the Langtang range. The Ri offers a picturesque view of the entire Langtang Valley.

Wandering around the Langtang village is an insightful experience. One can feel the influence of the Tibetan Buddhist religion in the village. The colorful prayer flags, mani walls, stupas, and monasteries reflect the Buddhism religion prevalent in the Langtang valley. Also, the village showcases the unique Tamang culture. Mostly inhabited by the Tamang community’s people, the village is an opportunity to get some unique insights into local culture, tradition, and practices.

During the Langtang trek, one can taste the local cuisine and pure yak cheese manufactured in the village’s yak factory. Langtang National Park is the attraction of the Langtang trekking. The park is a shelter for various species of floras, faunas, birds, and animals. Best Days of My Life

I and my colleagues visited Nepal back in the year 2017. I was not an experienced hiker but anyway chose Annapurna Base Camp Trek with a trekking agency in Nepal. It was like a challenge for me to trek to the 4000 m altitude, but Mr. Ram helped us in every way possible. He was there from the start of our trekking journey in Pokhara to our end days in Kathmandu. Ram kept pushing me forward and even waited for me to catch the other team. He guided me from choosing plain food to meditating. Although I was a victim of altitude sickness and couldn't enjoy the trek to the fullest, I am very grateful to have chosen him.

Annapurna Base Camp is a beautiful place in the Himalayas. The Gurung Village, Poonhill, Pokhara every place was just outstanding.
I have now developed a hiking attitude, and I have been training for the EBC trek now. I can't wait to visit the Himalayas again.

Perfectly Organized Upper Mustang Trek

All thanks to Mr. Ram for organizing the Upper Mustang, trekking perfectly from beginning to end. I, along with my bunch of friends, had a delightful experience with the Heaven Himalaya team. For us, it is the best trekking agency in Nepal. The guides and porters were very flexible and took care of everything around us.

I recommend everyone to try these young guys to go hiking in Nepal.

Wonderful Trekking Experience

My wife and I visited Upper Mustang and were lucky to have chosen Heaven Himalaya. We had a wonderful experience trekking in Upper Mustang. As soon as we landed in TIA, we were welcomed by Ram. He was very easy and responsive to work with. He explained all the queries we had and gave a brief description of the tour. As we were watching videos and reading blogs about Upper Mustang, we had a lot of expectations about the place and the trekking agency we were working with. We had a private 18-day tour with a porter. And to be honest, we found everything beyond our expectations. The hills, mountains, monasteries were all amazing, especially Lo Manthang is a great place to visit. Our guide was also equally supportive and friendly. The team made our trek more enjoyable. While writing this, it reminded me of the days we had on the trails. Thank You again for the wonderful experience. Best wishes to Jason and Esha. We will definitely love to return and probably do the Everest base camp Trek this time.

Trip of a lifetime- Annapurna Circuit Trek

Heaven Himalaya Team offers a magnificently arranged trekking involvement in Nepal. Ramhari answered instantly to all my messages. They make a solid effort to make your vacation in Nepal an extraordinary one and genuinely went well beyond my desires.

I couldn't remember the name of the guide but my boy, you were more than amazing. I wish you good luck in the days to come.

Everything from pickup to trekking in the mountains was very professional with excellent service.

So, I strongly suggest everyone and will trek with Heaven Himalaya again in the future.

Glorious Experience in EBC Trek

We did an EBC trek with Ram and his team back in April 2019, and it was a glorious experience. Ram is a very knowledgeable, resourceful, and very helpful guide. 2 of us got unwell during the trek, and he was very prompt and took care of us in any way that was available.

We enjoyed our chat and his sense of humor along the trail and at the teahouses. He even got us a special breakfast and pickle salad at Namche Bazaar and always fulfilled the strange request with our dietary needs. EBC trek is amazing. With Ram, it is even more spectacular. Thanks for the amazing trip. Looking forward to island peak climb in the future.
