Overview
Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is a journey of delight. It is an easy and lively experience for any enthusiastic travelers who would love to spend some quality time amidst nature experiencing the local folks’ rich culture and routine life. Accessible from Nepal’s capital town, Kathmandu, the trail is still untouched by any modernization. The trail treasures the authenticity of nature, wildlife, biodiversity, and the traditional lifestyle of people.
As the name depicts, Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is an exciting trip that introduces you to the heritages of the Tamang community people living in Nepal’s Langtang region. Tamang people are one of the many ethnic groups found in Nepal. They have their own unique culture, customs, values, languages, traditions, songs, dances, festivals, and ways of living. The Tamang villages’ charm in the backdrop of the beautiful Himalayas gives a classic touch to this trek. No wonder Tamang Heritage Trek is one favorite amongst those who have opted for the trek.
Tamang Heritage Trail Trek–An authentic Off the Beaten trekking
Travelers do not get so frequently around the trail. Lying next to Langtang valley, the trail is one of the seldom-visited trails of the region. Though less traveled, it is nothing less than other treks in the region. The major reason for fewer visitors is its off-beaten nature trail.
The infrastructures like guesthouses, teahouses, etc. are not so abundantly available in the route. But the fact is an advantage for an adventurous traveler who would love to unleash the raw appeal of nature. We consider the trail as a gem enhanced by local culture and Buddhism religion. As you walk past the trail, you will relish the intensifying views of mountain peaks in the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.
It’s all about Tamang villages and Tamang culture.
It connects the Tamang Heritage Trail to Tibet. In the ancient era, the trail used to be a trade route between Nepal and Tibet. Many Tibetans came to Nepal and settled here as Tamang people. No wonder they have so much resemblance to their culture, tradition, and lifestyle. They depend on agriculture and animal husbandry for livelihood. They live a simple and productive life.
Did you know? They are creative and perfect with woodworks? One can see their crafts in pillars of houses, windows, bamboo baskets, and many more. Above all, their cheerful and welcoming behavior is heart captivator.
The classic route of Tamang Heritage Trail Trek
First, the trek starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. The trail traverses slowly and gradually through the traditional Tamang villages. Then, to an off-beaten trail full of fields, cultivated lands, and forests enriched with wildlife and biodiversity. If lucky, you may get a glimpse of few wild lives inhabited within the jungles in the trail.
As the people in the route follow the Buddhism religion, one can see the colorful prayer flags and stupas on the way. We walk past village-like Galtang to Tatopani. Tatopani is popular for natural hot water springs. From Tatopani, the trail leads us to traditional Tamang villages like Thuman and Briddim. Last, we explore the people and lifestyle in the villages and return to Syabrubensi to end the trip.
Heaven Himalaya offers some guaranteed trips to Tamang Heritage Trail. If interested, you can join the group or contact us for a private trip. For the best trekking experience, plan your trip from March to May or from September to November. Trip of a lifetime- Annapurna Circuit Trek
Heaven Himalaya Team offers a magnificently arranged trekking involvement in Nepal. Ramhari answered instantly to all my messages. They make a solid effort to make your vacation in Nepal an extraordinary one and genuinely went well beyond my desires.
I couldn't remember the name of the guide but my boy, you were more than amazing. I wish you good luck in the days to come.
Everything from pickup to trekking in the mountains was very professional with excellent service.
So, I strongly suggest everyone and will trek with Heaven Himalaya again in the future.
Glorious Experience in EBC Trek
We did an EBC trek with Ram and his team back in April 2019, and it was a glorious experience. Ram is a very knowledgeable, resourceful, and very helpful guide. 2 of us got unwell during the trek, and he was very prompt and took care of us in any way that was available.
We enjoyed our chat and his sense of humor along the trail and at the teahouses. He even got us a special breakfast and pickle salad at Namche Bazaar and always fulfilled the strange request with our dietary needs. EBC trek is amazing. With Ram, it is even more spectacular. Thanks for the amazing trip. Looking forward to island peak climb in the future.
Incredible Scenery and Service
I trekked up to Basecamp with Ram and his Heaven Himalaya team last year and had incredible Scenery and Service. The scenery is just awesome, and Ram took amazing care of everyone in our group. He kept us all entertained and motivated and most importantly, healthy. Can't recommend him highly enough!
Best Experience Ever, Thank You Ram
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the mountains. We made the Three Passes Trek in the Everest region. I can certainly say that it was the ultimate outdoor experience we have ever had, simply astonishing. I'm also very sure that a great part of enjoying that experience the way we did was thanks to our guide (Ram). He's a highly expert in the mountains and more importantly a great person with a big heart and always a smile to offer.
Everest Base Camp Trek
I did the Everest Base Camp Trek back in Nov’18 and it was an awesome experience. My guide, Ram was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and professional. He was very good in all the preparations that he made and was very attentive to my needs. He was very thorough explaining all parts of the trek and he took good care of me, especially I was exhausted on the last day of the trek, he pushed and helped me out to ensure I made it to EBC. I highly recommend going with Ram if you ever wanted to do any treks in Nepal.
